Nercon's Spiral Conveyors: The Live-Drum Spiral Conveyor and Conventional Spiral Conveyor

Nercon's Low Tension Live-Drum Spiral Conveyor

CONVENTIONAL SPIRAL CONVEYOR
Nercon's Spiral Conveyor is compact in design when compared to other vertical lift equipment and conveyor solutions. The Spiral Conveyors can be designed to carry product betwen floors and machines or over aisles.

Designed with a uniform slope, the Spiral Conveyor insures smooth operation without disturbing the product. A continuously moving table top chain gently elevates or lowers the product.

The Spiral Conveyor is suited for fragile products that cannot be squeezed with a gripper conveyor or if the product cannot be tilted.

Operating speeds up to 150 feet per minute are attainable depending upon the height change and product size and weight.

The Spiral Conveyor is adaptable to customer requirements. Multiple lanes, slope and chain widths are available ranging from 3 1/4" to 15" (double 7 1/2"). The infeed and discharge location is also variable depending on the application.

Left Middle:With a minimum elevation of 20", the maximum elevation of Nercon's Spiral Conveyor is determined by conveyor speed and product wieght.

This low tension Live-Drum Spiral having longer runs and multiple tiers in its design can attain greater elevation changes compared to shaft and sprocket driven high tension spirals. While the number of tiers is limited by the complex drive system and chain pull limitation in high tension spirals, the Live-Drum Spiral's effective edge wrap driving force maintains low tension through multiple tiers resulting in higher elevation designs.

Spiral Conveyors by Nercon

THE LIVE-DRUM SPIRAL
Nercon has developed a new spiral conveyor system that utilizes a cylindrical drum that assists in driving the modular plastic belt. The benefits of the Live-Drum Spiral Conveyor include:

-Low Belt Tension
-Increased Elevation Changes and Capacity
-Design and Product Range Versatility
-Low Maintenance

Regardless of the conveyor length, the rotating stainless steel drum imparts the driving force to the inside edge of the belt creating very low tension on the belt. The benefit of low belt tension allows for exceptionally long runs translating into significantly increased number of tiers. The substantial quantity of conveying belt in the relatively small footprint offers manufacturers increased production and profitability.
